Column Lamp​

The Column Lamp is a sculptural handcrafted accent lighting fixture that functions as a table lamp or a floor lamp based on its dimensions. The lamp explores a combination of various wood bending techniques, creating a dynamic piece with fluid movement in curves.

The column lamp was made by laminating and bending birch, lauan plywood and birch veneer that was then cut down to vertical pieces and connected via the traditional tambour method. The strips are connected via a sheet of artificial leather, creating a flexible surface that wraps around the rigid base of the lamp. The warm diffused light coming from the interior of the highlights the organic gaps between the linear forms.
